| Sunflowers is a charming story about a teenager, Devon, finding the right boyfriend. When a car hits Devon, his love life takes a dramatic turn. Surprisingly, this accident allows him to meet his first love. Unlike some teenagers today, Devon has loving support from both his best friend Sara and his parents. However, his parents still have fears about him going on his first date.
The film journeys on a path of firsts that people older often reminisce about. Devon and his new beau learn lessons in relationships through communication, intimacy, quarrels, and forgiveness. It's a delightful movie about growing up. The short film sends a positive message about growing up gay in today's society. Its simplistic story line sends a powerful message about the normality of homosexuality in today's culture. |
